I LOVE the scent of clementines. It instantly sparks my Christmas spirit. Although you won't experience the actual aroma, these charming clementine ornaments can definitely infuse your Christmas tree with festive joy. The best part is, crafting them is a breeze! With the provided pattern for the clementine and leaf, you'll find it easy to create these simple and colorful decorations.

This sewing pattern includes:

  • Print-friendly template
  • Materials list
  • Step by step sewing instructions

To add a touch of uniqueness, I decided to sew the Clementines in an adorable little orange jacket, which I discovered during one of my thrift store fabric-hunting adventures. I love upcycling and creating something new from old materials. Fabrics from blouses and dresses often have fantastic patterns and colors, and it’s a fun opportunity to experiment and craft something that is truly personal and one-of-a-kind.

Clementines and oranges have always been a part of my Christmas treats and to me, these fabric ornaments really capture the essence of the holiday season. Mixing these cute clementines with Christmas baubles and other personal decor will add warmth and coziness to your home this festive season.

Happy crafting!

Got Questions about making Clementine ornaments?

What fabric can I use for DIY clementine ornaments?

When making DIY clementine ornaments, you have the flexibility to use various fabrics based on your preference and what you have at home. Opting for cotton is the easiest as it doesn't stretch during sewing.

Personally, I find joy in using pre-used or vintage dresses and shirts, which are often made of polyester or thinner fabrics. To facilitate the crafting process, I always iron on interlining/Vlieseline before starting, making it much more manageable to work with.

Do I need a sewing machine to make Clementine fabric ornaments?

No, you do not necessarily need a sewing machine to make Clementine fabric ornaments. While a sewing machine can speed up the process and make the stitching more uniform, you can also create these ornaments entirely by hand using basic sewing techniques. Hand-sewing the fabric pieces together with a needle and thread is entirely possible and can result in beautiful and charming Clementine ornaments. It all comes down to personal preference and the tools you have available.

This sewing pattern is specifically created for crafting the Clementines using a sewing machine.

What to use fabric clementine ornaments for?

Fabric clementine ornaments can be used for various purposes in your Christmas decorations and holiday celebrations. Here are some ideas:

  • Christmas Tree Decorations: Hang the fabric clementine ornaments on your Christmas tree to add a touch of charm and warmth to your tree.
  • Garland: Create a festive garland by stringing the fabric clementines together with other decorations like lights, beads, or ribbons, and drape it along the mantel or staircase.
  • Table Centerpiece: Place the fabric clementine ornaments in a decorative bowl or basket as a lovely and unique table centerpiece.
  • Gift Toppers: Attach the fabric clementine ornaments to wrapped gifts as delightful and personalized gift toppers.
  • Hostess Gifts: Offer the fabric Clementines as thoughtful and handmade hostess gifts during holiday gatherings.
